It's a wonderful life

It's a wonderful life

A Poem by terri james

Baloons rise and fall with the slightest breeze

Hold on tight or you'll lose them to the trees

Brightly colored to put a smile on children's faces

Tied around wrists no chance of escaping

Laughing children happy and innocent

Walking with mom and dad everything is picturesque

The perfect family no secrets to hide everything as it seems

It's a wonderful life

There's another child not so happy or innocent

A mom and dad not so caring or giving

More concerned about them selves

Children hiding in corners

Not wanting to be seen

Who buys balloons for these children?

Who makes them smile?

What makes them different from the ones down the hall

Who cries for them in the middle of the night

What has to be done to make things right?
