CollideA Poem by GeorgeVDreams collide with my heart, Collide with my soul If my heart didn’t have such a dark hole Not knowing what my future holds Holding the kaleidoscope Hoping that when the ocean Collides with the rocks, The tide drags me in As it knocks the sides of the Earth Like grandfather clocks
Memories collide with my future Bringing my happiness into repetition, My vision: Snow on the roof of my log cabin Outside my window, white trees And the fire place keeping me warm Closed in, in the openness of Alaska Where two countries and ships collide Where isolation connects me to real life
My thoughts collide with my promises, My blueprint, imprinted with paw prints Of my little kids, Drinking milk from a sippy cup When my wife and kids love is enough Collide with my mind, climb trees And revisit the scenery.
Collide and combine all the grapes from
the vine What parts of me will I find From scattered pieces of you and me Why is life about loss And why is love harder to find than
pain? I know flowers only grow from rain But these days Illusion and reality have the same face And they face-off to the death And show off their features With their stubborn persistence. Only I could encounter this type of pain For pain and I collide But the colors don’t make rainbows When all I can see is black and white Am I fighting for the wrong cause? Am I fighting a battle I already lost? When you don’t follow your heart It certainly comes with a great cost. But darkness shows you a better path If you can see in the dark, Because it is dark when you dream So when you sleep, Darkness and your dreams, collide. © 2014 GeorgeV |
