listening to jazz on green dolphin street

listening to jazz on green dolphin street

A Poem by Samuel Ferris

rolling rhythms
a steady swing
a modern swing-jive
and slide
behind my ears
and curl up be free
the whisps of smoke
around and up and down
the rolling hills of tones and tunes

a little night music please
a little smooth release
and the warm voice of a saxophone.

god.. i really love this

the title drew me in with its whimsy and the pacing held me there..

wonderful! this reminded me of walking alone, wrapped up in the music in my headphones.. feeling my whole self melt into the pauses between beats and notes
