As the Wind

As the Wind

A Poem by Bruce Bray
"

Just a thought about a friend of mine..

"
Sound of percussive leaves
Searching for their spirit in the trees
Following the green wavering blades
Upon the ground running
Wolves find their comfort
Hawks enjoy the ripple
Sun and Moon exchange pleasantries
As night follows day
She stands upon the hill
Eyes shut to the world
Tears locked inside her
The forest bows to her peace
Her arms stretch wide
Soft fingers of love and hope
Still and strong for those
Who cannot for themselves
Wind upon her mane
Dark into the night
Illuminated by the full moon
Blowing as the wind
Lips whisper hope
Lips whisper love
Lips whisper forgiveness
Lips whisper strength
Words are silent
Yet the forest can hear
What others cannot fathom
All is still by her
Solitary and strong
She lifts them in her prayers
She is only
She is isolation
She is as the wind
