Asphyxiate

Asphyxiate

A Poem by Lovingleigh

Let it wash over you;

Immerse yourself

Let it sink in slowly and drown in it

Take your time

Fall to the bottom and make a bed there

You can feel it, and you know it's there

All around you

Try your best not to fight it, give in

Give up

Close your eyes

and take a deep breath

Let it fill your shallow lungs

Feel the pressure

You've come too far now

Let go, relax. It's better this way

Fight the urge to swim, keep still

Gravity will keep you down,

where you've been for so long now

Listen closely,

Everything happens

and there's no reason at all

Remember this

as you forget everything else

Surrender.

Lovingleigh
It's meant to be washy and manic, much like a depressed person would be.

I have always been extremely positive and perhaps that's best when reading a work like this because it transformed me into experiencing and understanding how others go about their lives. I was intrigued by this work and send my kudos.
