Snowflakes and Maple SeedsA Poem by GuineaPigjust something i wrote
She smiles
At a single perfect snowflake It floats, carefree And lands in her styrofoam cup of hot chocolate. A silver tree rustles its sleepy branches And shakes its twirling maple seeds Down to the ground One clings to her hair. A paddle swishes Throwing up a spray of clear droplets And arcing high in the air Propelling her canoe Without a sound She sweeps it again. A leaf dances Swirling in its bright red dress Somersaulting through the crispy air And landing on the thin page Of the novel in her lap. She smiles The leaf falls asleep between the covers of her closed book.
