You Walked Away

From my book "Lost Emotions". Poetry I wrote back in the 1970's.

I wasn't looking.
But you appeared,
And I couldn't help but stare.

 

I wasn't interested.
But you spoke,
And I was fascinated.

 

I was content.
But you smiled,
And I realized my emptiness.

 

So I reached for you.
You turned your back
and walked away.

Funny how life can do taht to us..we meet someone special and it is just like your heart goes a thousand miles a minute..but for them..you are just some one they pass on by...hurts but that is life..Nice poem..Kathie
