The Devil and MeA Poem by IronbuttWe all have our demons... some we crush under heel other.... stay along for the ride.....
Out here on the road..
carry a load.. should be lighter than it seems.. What people don't know.. what weighs down my load.. what people don't see... is the constant battle.. a battle between the Devil and me. Seen him at the bottom of a bottle... on a headboard in a brothel.. on a battlefield where men bleed... yes a battle... a constant battle between the Devil and me. He stole my childhood.. taught me crying was of no good.. happiness for me would be hard to achieve.. quick to erase..any smile on my face.. that's what people don't see.. this battle..a constant battle..between the Devil and me. So I stay out here alone.. carry this load...maybe one day lighter to me... that will be the day..the day I win the battle.. the battle between the Devil and me. © 2014 IronbuttAuthor's Note
