Just Me

Just Me

A Poem by Ironbutt
"

We are all made up of something..stand for something.....this is a glimpse of me..

"
Like that flag over there that I will defend..
red, white and blue..
proud in the wind...
new  or folded..
bloody or tattered....
I'll just be me...
that's what matters.
Little bit of everything runs through my blood..
come to think of it..that's what America is made up of..
be kind of nice ..
folks realize...
that you caint run away from the truth..
just me... standing in front of you....
Dont need much ...
tailgate down, cold drink in my cup..
either watching the sun go down..or watch it come up..
cracked mechanic hands and paratrooper knees..
thats what you got in front of you... all me....
Got two dollars in my hand.. willing to give up one..
no need for me to have two when you got none...
Wont preach to you , kinda want to keep it at that..
I'll find my judge at the end of my path....
Go to sleep hungry..so my family gets fed..
just me in front of you...
reckon enough said.
