In My Corner

In My Corner

A Poem by Ironbutt
"

Trying to provide comfort to one who is hospitalized can be trying...to say the least.

"

The pain is etched on the face and comfort so far out of reach...

each attempted gesture  of helpfulness..so far...seems clumsy

 to me  .....

better at the errand boy ....a

  small snack.... or a drink

than trying to help her find a comfort place..

without toeing the brink.

Nurses all try to find...an answer to the bells..

each patient feeling the wait as their own time in hell.

Ah..the slow drip of pain relief.....

comfort

 from above...

painful for those awake..

watching the ones we love.

nicely drawn out... you set a nice tone, good detail, and a very powerful ending. Good image of the IV drip... nice touch! Yeah, the clumsiness of help in those moments... like that too.
