After Midnight

After Midnight

A Poem by Ironbutt
"

A world apart..yet together..somehow

"
After midnight..your hands will try and find me
on the pillow where I lay...
after midnight..I will be preparing my men
to exit the plane...
After midnight..our little one will have a bad dream..
she will climb into your bed
and ask about me...
After midnight..my best friend will be..
my M16 and the men around me on one knee...
After midnight.. all hell will break loose...
after midnight... my love will go out to you two...
After midnight..........
Remember me........please.

we're gonna let it all hang out?

sorry, couldn't help myself with that title.

Really beautiful poem. It was so real- feeling. I was imagining touching the pillow, looking for the one not there...and easily imagining how it would feel for either one. Well done poem!
