I Remembered

I Remembered

A Poem by Ironbutt
"

bonds are created in all sorts of circumstances...some are unbreakable

"
I remember when we signed in...
said we would do this together to the end....
You cussed me  on that first ten mile run...
couldn't wipe that grin off your face though
on our first night jump...
I remember.....
How cold it was in those night ambush sites..
how you could talk about food all night...
how you could walk straight even when you were dead asleep...
man those crazy jokes you'd tell would be killing me.
I remember...you didn't let me know you could barely swim,
man those instructors had a time with us back then..
but we made it through..maybe not the top of the class..
but we still did it..got the tab....
I remember... how we both looked when the crap hit the fan...
play time over, time to step up for the man....
I remember we had said to the end.......
I remembered...over and over again...........
