Only at Midnight

Only at Midnight

A Poem by Ironbutt
"

When the mind wanders, who dares follow?

"
This piece was inspired by a poet who possess the masterful ability to paint  eloquently with her words, Neva Flores. Thank you.
I seem to only cry at midnight....
the deafening silence of the room awakes me.....
Yesterdays ghosts tussle all about my memory ...
opening doors , doors that are not meant to be tampered with.
Storms of thoughts and failures rush passed the open window of my mind....
I feel the urge to run....run to where ?
Midnight passes and the sounds of Life calmly take over
the shadows..... no trace of the midnight tears to be found...
I feel the need to run.........and I respond to it...
I run toward today.

So each man will look back in time
taking stock of the life he led
To find if he is left wanting
and for who and what he has bled
