In Love With A Younger Woman

In Love With A Younger Woman

A Poem by Ironbutt
"

At a certain point in ones life, we actually start living, I mean really living.

"
All the signs along Life's Highways pronounce the
warnings of falling in love with someone younger,
ignored by many, myself included.
Done with the eyes that melt and the soft words to
bend any proclaimed rule .
Yes that's what I told myself.
Solid as a rock against any chances of this happening to me.
Solid.
Here I am, bound to her youthful social calender and demands.
Her, ready to rock the house ,
me , ready to find a spot on my couch.
We miss each other, that couch and me,
again another relationship not meant to be.
Constant changing of clothes to wear,
scattered unwants every where.
Back to trying to stay fit,
or better yet,
just trying to keep up and catch my breath.
Yes these young women are are hell on wheels,
my goodness what will happen when she turns three!

this is precious...i was reading it and relating in a different way all the way through...having been in relationships with younger women, thinking age didn't matter at all...but finding out in the end, it always did.

but then the ending...ha ha...becoming a parent at an older age can be taxing...but the love is strong...

i love this piece.
