Evans Diner

Evans Diner

A Poem by Ironbutt
"

a step through these doors and along with the smell of great food comes a flood of childhood memories, soda floats, hot dogs and real smiles.

"
Got God Bless Our Troops painted on the window,
Elvis and Monroe  greets you inside,
rolled up jeans on  the waitress ready for you to decide.
Your eyes will get bigger then your stomach,
so many things to choose.
Surrounded  by memories of yesterday
and the tantalizing smells of great food.
If soda floats are what you crave,
well friend wait no more
but here are hot dogs and hamburgers
that will do the trick for sure.
Course they got grown up meals,
fried chicken and the likes
Even got a great meal plan for the little tikes.
You will leave with your hunger gone and memories anew,
this is a little diner I found, glad to share with you.

Evans Diner is located in Evans , Georgia  on Washington Rd.

this is a slice of life for sure....the favorite eating place...mine is Merichkas in Joliet, Illinois.

memories..

just a couple of grammatical suggestions..."God Bless our Troops" in quotation marks...
"Elvis and Monroe greet you inside"

"eyes will get bigger than your stomach"

easily remedied...but such a nice bit of nostalgia.

Sound like a fantastic place. I love gems like that, being that I'm always eating out.
A good poem IB.. that will find a well worn place inside your journal of
memories
