In the Kitchen With Ironbutt

A Poem by Ironbutt
"

You want to put a smile on someones face? Hand them a plate full of good food.

"

Hey hold up Hoss, close up that lid,

this aint your Granny's kitchen.

You want to make yourself useful in here, get to them dishes.

Now I know your nose done brought you here,

frankly that was my plan

but you just got to wait till I am done now get to washing that pan!

Got a little more brown sugar to add and a little more spice to this,

give this a turn, that a stir and ok, hold up what is this?

Seems to me the last time I checked there was at least twelve patties done,

boy don't let me find out you're a sneaking stuff, you'll sit on the porch with none!

Ok, so the beans are as soft as they'll ever be and why I think they taste just fine,

got to butter up this corn bread now and give this tea some ice.

Fresh cut green onions and a few bell pepper here,

give this spread some light,

better turn on all the ceiling fans, there will be music up in here tonight!

Ok now, well I guess I did'nt need to call, you boys just come right in,

ladies first, hey hoss take of that hat, you younguns  are sitting right here.

I sure hope when all is said and done and all these bellies are full,

there will be just as much a rush to help clean up as there is over this food.

Ho well, good eats everyone and let's pray for our troops.
