The Part of Me She Left Behind HerA Poem by IronbuttWe all deserve closer. The other day I bumped into an old flame of mine, the emotional chains wrapped around me. I could not even look into her eyes, memories tried to blind me. Though the conversation was friendly, it lacked any substance at all, I could feel freedom wings inside me. As we exchanged hollow "give me a call", I could finally see behind me. I watched as she walked away, thanked whom ever for this day. I found more of me right there, all the parts of me she had left behind her. © 2012 Ironbutt |
