The Part of Me She Left Behind Her

The Part of Me She Left Behind Her

A Poem by Ironbutt
"

We all deserve closer.

"

The other day I bumped into an old flame of mine,

the emotional chains wrapped around me.

I could not even look into her eyes,

memories tried to blind me.

 Though the conversation was friendly,

it lacked any substance at all,

I could feel freedom wings inside me.

As we exchanged hollow "give me a call",

I  could finally see behind me.

I watched as she walked away,

thanked whom ever for this day.

I found more of me  right there,

all the parts of me she had left behind her.

very quick read that does all its supposed to. Every sentence drove the story on or explained it further. Very well done!
