Two Eyes Above the Cup Rim

Two Eyes Above the Cup Rim

A Poem by Ironbutt
"

Wonder what eyes really tell you? Does a cup come up just in time to hide a smile?

"

Ah, the joy of a good conversation, the pleasantry of an exchange of words,

no topic on the mainscreen, anything and every thing works.

A nod of silent agreement.A frown or smirk for dislike.

No real balking on a subject, keeping the conversation light.

Still ...just a tad bit of wonder, what really these eyes do say.

How they linger on a subject, then , quickly look away.

Sparks seem to light from the corners, then hiden by the coffee cup.

The thunder and lightning  magically vanished the next time they look up.

Ah, the joy of a good conversation.

Face to face conversation...the best way to get acquainted. So many people don't pay attention to what the face says in small ways...it can tell you so much. Love the image of the eyes above the rim.

I too like to look into the eyes of the one I am conversing with.....the eyes speak volumes. A wonderful piece
