![]() As The Leaves FallA Poem by Milena GruborIn the cradle of twilight, when sorrow slipped away, A whisper turned to silence, and shadows led the fray, He was full of life, with dreams painted bright, But the night stole the laughter, and swallowed the light. Years flew like thunder, the seasons turned cold, Grey skies watched his heart as the memories unfold, He wore a mask of strength, a warrior's disguise, But inside he was crumbling, a storm in his eyes. Through fields of autumn, he watched the leaves fall, His children danced in laughter, unaware of it all, But haunted by her silhouette, a phantom in the dark, Each smile a reminder, each heartbeat a spark. Years flowed like rivers, through valleys of pain, He buried it deep, like a ghost in the rain, Humble to the strangers, lost creatures in need, Yet the darkness wrapped tighter, planted its seed. In the night he would wander, through memories so stark, With the weight of her absence, like a ship torn apart, Yet hope flickered dimly, a candle in the night, Guiding him forward, through the endless fight. Shadows of yesterday, how you linger and creep, In the silence of midnight, where the lost souls weep, He carries the burden, yet lifts others high, A beacon of kindness, beneath the stormy sky. © 2025 Milena GruborReviews
