Begin Again

Begin Again

A Poem by Milena Grubor

It is always the scariest before you start,

In shadows deep, where nightmares carve their art.

Whispers from the abyss, they claw at my mind,

Rising from the ashes, the old me left behind.

Hit the rock bottom, a grave dug in my soul,

Bones shattered like glass, losing all control.

Collapsing in the silence, where ghosts start to feast,

Thought I would die, but I’m fueled by this beast.

The old dusty book, it’s time to close and burn,

Watch the ink dry, watch the world turn.

Reborn from the ashes, from the depths I ascend,

No more chains of the past, it’s my time to transcend!

The pen is my sword, my shield through this hell,

Writing down the memories, I’ll cast out the spell.

The cliff calls to me, where the abyss meets the sky,

I threw myself off, with wings that would not die.

The weight of the world, shattering bones like glass,

Yet in the freefall, I found peace at last.

Through the trials and the torment, I’ve severed the ties,

Today I am free, watch the old me die.
