Faded DreamsA Poem by Milena GruborI was only 14 when I laid
my eyes on you, Sunshine and shadows,
felt my heart break through, The world was spinning,
like a record in my mind, But you were always
distant, a star I couldn't find. The fire burned bright,
but the night was so long, Thirteen years later, I’m
still singing this song, Chasing those memories,
lost in your eyes, I guess I just wasn't
good enough to fit in your skies. I saw you laughing, felt
the ground moving underneath, Every little heartbeat
sang a bittersweet belief, But you were just a
whisper, a dream I couldn't catch, Life's a cruel teacher,
and I was just a match. Now the years have faded,
like the light of day, I’ve learned to dream
again, in a different way, But shadows still linger,
as I walk this road alone, Wondering if you ever
knew how I felt about your tone. © 2024 Milena GruborReviews
