Dark Curse

Dark Curse

A Poem by Milena Grubor
"

“There's a natural law of karma that vindictive people, who go out of their way to hurt others, will end up broken and alone.”

"

In the depths of night, where the shadows creep,

An evil queen awakens, in a castle steep.

Wrapped in serpents, her crown of thorns,

From her lips poison drips, a dark curse is born.

With eyes of fire, she weaves her cruel spell,

A heart forged in the furnace, destined for hell.

Her laughter echoes, a haunting refrain,

She dances on the ruins of all my pain.

Evil queen, with your heart of stone,

You bring sickness and anguish, in your dark throne.

You planned my demise, but I rise from the grave,

Angels shield me from your wrath, I am no slave!

With daggers of ice, she carves out my dreams,

A puppeteer of torment, unraveling at the seams.

In whispers of malice, she gathers her prey,

But I broke the chains, I won’t fade away.

You see the sins of others, with your twisted gaze,

But the mirror reflects your own wicked ways.

You’re a bully of souls, with a venomous tongue,

But the melody of justice has only begun.

In your labyrinth of lies, I found the light,

For every cut you made, I ignite the fight.

Your throne is a cage, built on whispers of dread,

But I’ll rise from the ashes, while you’re left for dead.

Serpents twist and coil at your feet made of bone,

The throne you so cherished will crush you alone.

I’ll shatter your mirror, as you stare in dismay,

For the darkness you cast will consume you one day.

Your soul is a shadow, a flickering flame,

You’ll drown in your envy, it’s a sinister game.

Your crown, it will rust, your power will wane,

As I watch you wither, lost in your pain.

Lough while you can, in your kingdom of dust,

For the throne of shadows will crumble, it must.

I survived your torment, the scars will not show,

But I’ll dance in the sunlight, while you reap what you sow.

Author's Note

Milena Grubor
During life, we meet many people, but rarely does anyone show their true face. You should always follow your instinct, in order to protect yourself from people who have evil intentions. I have been wrong many times in my assessment of people, so I have experienced many betrayals. But one person in particular stood out, because she could not hide her dark side. There is no shame in admitting that you have been a victim of abuse. This person, to whom the poem is dedicated, caused me to develop epilepsy through various forms of abuse. Unfortunately, due to life circumstances, I can't avoid her, but at least now I know how to build walls around myself and protect myself. Dear readers, choose carefully who you let into your life. Behind the face of an angel, the worst people, even psychopaths, often hide.
