HalloweenA Poem by Milena Grubor"Evil walks among us, wearing a mask."In the shadows where the darkness brews, Monsters creeping, feel their haunted hues, From the corners of every twisted street, Silhouettes dancing, their hearts skip a beat. With blood trusty eyes, they feast on my fears, Whispers of dread echoing in my ears. This town’s a graveyard, where nightmares roam, Every day’s Halloween, nowhere feels like home. Happy Halloween, where the soil runs red, Masks conceal the serpent void, the lives long dead. Underneath the surface, where the madness lies, Every soul imprisoned, beneath those hollow eyes. Crimson mist rises, suffocating the air, Ghouls in the alleys, their breath, a frozen snare. Laughter echoes, a dirge in the night, Joy turned to sorrow, a twisted delight. Veiled in deception, they play their cruel game, With painted smiles hiding the horror and shame. In a masquerade of chaos, the truth’s the disguise, A carnival of shadows where the innocence dies. A festival of phantoms, a requiem for the lost, Haunted by spirits, can’t escape from the cost. The clock strikes midnight, the veil starts to thin, Embrace the dark whispers, let the madness begin. Creeping dread wraps around my throat, Choking on nightmares like a cursed anecdote. Every heartbeat echo, the lanterns flicker low, In this town of shadows, the seeds of sorrow sow. Underneath the masks, beneath the painted skin, Lies a grotesque truth, where the darkness begins. So, I wander these streets, haunted by despair, In a world of illusions, where no one really cares. Happy Halloween, let the tormented rise, In this masquerade of horrors, the monster never dies. © 2024 Milena Grubor |
