Perception is in the Eye of the Unbeliever

I feel. Therefore I am.

But do I truly feel?

Is the reaction of my body on a molecular level to stimuli in my environment truly feeling something?

I think. Therefore I am.

I can create an image in my minds eye, but it is simply my brain reacting to similar stimuli brought on by nostalgia in which it recreates the situation.

Do I truly think? Do I truly delve into my mind and bring forth information that I create and learn?

I love. Therefore I am.

Love is simply a reaction to positive stimuli and chemical agents. 

Is love truly controllable at all? Or are we simply kenneled into situation where certain chemical levels are higher and thus we "choose" to be around the ones we "love"?

I am. Therefore I am.

Man has no idea of its own existence on a level in which it can be non-biased and look at basic facts as to what we truly are.

I have faith. Therefore I am.

Faith could simply be a misconception.

A bedtime story to help us fall asleep at night and not worry about the dangers that present themselves to us every moment of our lives.

I do not know. Therefore, am I?

Do I truly "exist." Perhaps to Man's understanding I do. But what if this is all a misconception of a truer reality.

What if Mankind is simply a miniscule organism within a larger being. Such as the multi-cell organisms we find in the water, is Man simply a tiny cell trying to bring meaning to its own existence?

Perception is the only way Man can descibe, define, feel, or explain anything. What if Perception was simply a creation by Mankind in order to hide away from the pain of the truth? The truth that we are not alive, that we do not exist, that all that we see around us is simply our ageless atempt at creating meaning.

I perceive that I do not understand. Therefore, I am not.

. this is a brilliant piece of writing ... extremely thought-provoking ... i read your piece without blinking ... and i am startled and astonished ... 'tis true ... anything's possible ...

. but i am glad about one thing ... whatever creativity there is ... has allowed for the existence of the internet ... words ... this post ... and my being able to say something about it ... based on how it makes me feel ... if these are powerful projections of perceptions ... then they're very powerful indeed ...

Very active thinking! Yes, I am, yet.... I am not. So many questions arise in all those who seek out truths and yet, truth leads to more questions. Questions that may never be answered. The reality of being able to ask those question shows that you exist. My ability to respond shows my existence. Do we exist to others? Not until they recognize our existence.... Another great thought provoking piece! Thank you.
