In Your Eyes

In Your Eyes

A Poem by B

With the eyes of a goddess you dive into my soul,
Searching,
As if there is something you need.
And with a bravado I knew not I possessed,
I dare to look right back.

In your eyes I can see it all,
Laughter, strength, goodness, love, solidarity, passion, and most of all - you.

Though you peer out of a sapphire shell you carry no fragility,
Your resolve is unmatched.

I look to you and wonder
- Will ever such a resolve live within me?

I travel and do works to discover who I am,
Yet, as more the works comes more realization,
I am not who I once was,
Torn, yet blind, certain, but confused.

With you I may yet see, it is not unattainable,
That which I strive towards will one day find itself in my grasp.

And as I reach I realize what it is that I strive for,
That which I have strained for in the days preceding,
No more do I blind myself, no more am I confused.

I look upon myself as if from God's eyes,
And there it is, that which I have traveled for, that which I have searched,
And I see the most wonderful thing.

I have long had that very treasure -

for in my hand - is yours.

This is so splendid. Every line is powerful! Without any "aid", you made this one an excellent piece. I can feel the love and hope in each verse.
Perfect ending!
