The Time TravelerA Poem by AnaA young man faces distraction and conflict after discovering a woman he's completely enamored by.
He'd met her in a field that day, surrounded by the flowers.
He'd tried his best to run away, but found himself encapsulated in her romantic powers. They talked and talked about everything, and nothing at all. And with each day passing, he knew time was growing incessantly small. He just couldn't bring himself to tell her he'd be leaving soon. So on their final night together he sat up, staring at the moon. He gathered all the strength he had, kissed her forehead with a sad, defeated smile. Left a note on her bedside hoping she wouldn't be too mad, stating: "I'll be gone for awhile." His past is haunted by her now, the woman he first fell for. He remembers with such clarity the day he walked out her door. He knew he'd be leaving something he couldn't possibly forget. A girl he'd constantly think of, worry for and fret. His nights are lost and lonely, spent stumbling in bars wishing he could somehow see her again, remembering the light she left in his life and the beauty they'd both witnessed in the stars. This girl changed the way he saw things, especially the world. He knew he'd never forget the girl with the bouncy red curls.
