Summer Joy

Summer Joy

A Poem by The Papermate Pen

buzz and drone and dots of yellow

crashing and falling 'pon my window pane

winds so gentle and skies so mellow

clear of yesterday's humdrum rain.

pines and spruce dance with summer joy

colorful wings flap vivaciously by

the dribbling from next door's basketball boy

and wondrous scenery one can't deny.

if only everyday were like like this one

cotton clouds in pale blue skies

above the world a golden sun

and the passing of them butterflies.

why end these utopian days

and bring to us a different climate?

i can't yet re-adjust my ways

and school comes to interrupt it.
