To A FriendA Poem by Grenadine IdaI wrote this poem just after I read a friend's status on facebook. The emotion flowed so easily into a poem.I can see the tear peeking from the corner of your eyes With one deep silent sigh, you hold it there Your lips are waiting to say something, but somehow The words are choked in the throat By the weight you heave in your chest I cannot bear the look of sorrow in your eyes It is tearing your heart like it is tearing mine Your eyes, they once burnt like fire, but now Only dim flame which flickers once in a while As you rise and fall, broken and mended I wish I could help you wipe off the sorrow But I am no savior, I cannot even wipe off mine Just hang on there a little longer The faith is the rope to hold you there Until your prayers turn into miracles (www.myescapegate.blogspot.com) © 2011 Grenadine Ida |
