A Poem by Megan Lynn Tocci

i walked around my empty campus yesterday

and there were circles in chalk all over

the pavement -- one every six feet,

and i thought, “how fitting that i should

feel so lonely, when i could lay down here,

head to toe, nearly perfectly between these markers.”

a whole self of distance

between connection, community, and comfort.

six feet of unknowing in two lines on the sidewalk.

it’s all of me.
