BIG BILL

BIG BILL

A Poem by everton ellis

The approach was strong, Hello sir, my name is-
Not the firm handshake i was expecting, it caught me off guard,
Distance was pending in the eyes of this character in my peripheral, another one of the seizures had just pass,
There was no stutter in any of the responses to the questions i asked, one word carefully placed after the next, they made perfect sense,

I was somewhat amused, this situation was new to me,it was nothing like i had thought, nevertheless we proceeded,
Had a couple laughs here and there,a couple stares and some thoughts that made sense to the conversation, just to say he was aware,
Away from the living room, into the kitchen step after step, looking left then right as if crossing the road of the passage way he'd just been through,
Hello! this time more bold than before, names were called now,a vivid image was in the thoughts, its been a while i havent seen you, welcome!
Dinner was served and everything was alright for the moment, then another segment came on, blank again staring at thin hair, ohhhh DEMENTIA you are one heck of an addict.
