LISTENING NIGHT VOICES

LISTENING NIGHT VOICES

A Poem by everton ellis
"

its about a night

"
everyone sleeping,even the wind,
the dogs kept barking,
i knew it was a conversation.

trucks passed slowly, the drivers were tired,
then the sound vanished in the blink of an eye,
even crickets stopped playing,
they creeked,creeked,until they stopped.

you hear the snore from neighbors,
and at times members in your house,
that silent ringing in your ears,
yet you know not where its from.

the snarling of cats from a distance,
the music from a dance some miles away,
the lizards crossing the roof.

even you get drowsy, and the sun is gone,
one gets ready for bed, even starts to yawn,
you wrap tigh, cant wait for tomorrow,
then i'll write about dawn.

A very nice and descriptive poem. At times, we remember all the events with clarity. Take care...:).................
