What if...

What if...

A Poem by Cecilia

What if we stopped having a ball
What if the paint chips from the wall?
What if there's always cups in the sink?
What if I'm not what you think I am?
What if I fall further than you?
What if you dream of somebody new?
What if I never let you win our silly little fights?
What if your eyes close before mine?
What if they do?

I am giving up on making passes, and I am giving up on half empty glasses and I am giving up on greener grasses

I am giving up on crying over sun setting before i'm ready, and I am giving up on dwelling over my life not being steady, i'm giving up on ignoring the remedy.

I'll make sure you're on time and together if you help soothe my worried looks and together we can tuck our loneliness away in a box.

I want to change the world
Instead I sleep and whine about the things that surround me.
I want to believe in more than you and me

All that I know is I'm breathing
All I can do is keep breathing
All we can do is keep breathing
