Clarity

 

It all becomes

So crystal clear

That even the ones

I hold so dear

Have hidden down

In their hearts

That which would keep

Us all so far apart

 

Even for one who’s

Heart is like stone

There is great pain

When shunned and alone

Deception and ridicule

Un-forgiveness of the past

Is more than enough reason

To put on this mask

 

Confusion and loneliness

Is hidden by this face

Even from those

Who dwell in this place

All my friendships

Seem to be at an end

My heart too crushed

Too broken to mend.
