The LieA Poem by grayhavenThe Lie My love for you was deep and strong We bathed together in our passion And lay in the afterglow of our love Entwined together, molded as one You were the one that completed me And made me whole for the first time The secret looks meant only for me Looks full of love, longing, want and need Until the day my world came crashing down Or lives together are not meant to be Lies were formed to protect all And we play the game of indifference I find that I can no longer live this lie The lie that says, I do not care Yet I must convince my heart That I no longer love you To do so, I but trade one lie for another I continue on feeling dead on the inside Like I have not drawn a life giving breath Since that fateful day so long ago But still I keep the coals of our love Buried deep in my heart Where to this day they are smoldering With a heat that time cannot quench © 2011 grayhavenReviews
