Baring my Soul

Baring my Soul

A Poem by grayday104
"

the many shades of me

"
I bare my soul through those that aren't real
To escape a world in which it's hard to feel
Grave digging by pale moonlight
Doing dark work that'd give you a fright
Been a love sap fool on winged feet
Moving to the rhythm of my heart beat
Preached like a deadman from the grave
Speaking his tale for a life to save
Raged at the world as the man in black
Angered by courage in which it lacks
Fought as the lover in the depths of hell's keep
Taking back my love who went to sleep
Once a hero with a great ordeal
Turning his back to feel
Ferried down the river Styx
Rowing past the hound Cerberus
I've traveled from here to there
Striking down those causing harm without care
Hunted like the seeker for his find
Tracking down pieces of his broken mind
I've felt these all in some way
Pieces of the soul from a world gone gray
