PERIOD TIME...

PERIOD TIME...

A Poem by Alexandra G.

Today is one of those days that you imagine everything,
The same place where you ask yourself:
Will I be part of all this or not?
Life is not pink and everything squeezes.

Today is one of those days that you imagine everything,
Everything tightens until you get your guts out.
Squeeze ... squeeze so hard it hurts,
But that's no longer the case.

Today is one of those days that you imagine everything,
Most of the time it's good.
So we do not believe in fantasy and we begin to see reality,
Everything is real; pure, without fallacies or obstacles.

Today is one of those days that you imagine everything,
And there, right at that moment we see the shock.
Nothing in this life is of oneself,
It's only for a period of time.

I don't even follow every little nook and cranny of your message, but there's something really fresh & uninhibited about your observations & your style of presenting them that makes me love this poem. There's a sense that everything is not lollipops & roses, but that's just fine, it's all in the tapestry of life and this narrator is welcoming to whatever is on tap for a day. Very frisky-sounding & fun, yet also with a serious deep meaningful point which everything leads up to (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I really liked your use of the phrase "Life is not pink and everything squeezes." and the followed repetition of that squeezing! I doubt it was intentional, but it read in some ways as a poem laced with metaphor around a literal period, seeming to capture how "periods" of heartbreak and emotional trial are the same short-lived but intense pain of the physical. Fem power to that!
All in all, regardless of what I think it means, it still reads very interestingly and the fact it evoked such thought from my part definitely suggests I dug it!

Grammar and dialogue were grand, good poem, I liked the beat as I read it out loud, all things will change, as an old Chinese man once said,

Blessings, thanks so much!
the reality is we are on borrowed time...yes, there is fantasy...there can be lots of good and lots of bad...we just have to make the most of it...enjoy the good, accept and get through the bad.
