London Bridge

London Bridge

A Poem by gravitylava

Oh London bridge,
you're falling down
examining the structure now,
we see that you were held together with paper clips
painted with nail polish
and only got approval
because some fair lady slept with the contractor

Oh London bridge,
we'll build you back up
this time with glue and markers
a pretty little business deal
and only sleep with our husbands and wives
and occasionally the Lord
because the contractor lied about his STDs

Oh London bridge
you're falling down
glue and markers make no sense
business is bankrupt on acting
our marriages failed, there's always a fair lady
God help us when we cry
because the contractor stole our money

Oh London bridge
we'll build you back up
finally with stone and steel
and go to college to learn finance
speak big words to casual lovers
and our religion is in the people
because we are the contractor
