Little Things.

Little Things.

A Poem by Rachel DeHart
"

This sounded good this morning. Im not so sure about it now though..

"

with the morning light my heart rises

to the sky, taking with it all of the

hopes that hide in my mind.

a little offering of sorts.

kind of a way of saying..

“see how happy I could be?”

and every evening as I fall

back into sleep, I reach up

and borrow them back again.

i would love to be the one who

calls out that smile. To be the

woman who is everything

you’d expect her to be.

not clingy, cause its not my

thing. but a steady force.

love notes shipped strategically,

cute reminders of

yes I am here,  placed surgically.

I want to be all of the hopeless

romantic I can be. And have someone

smile at my dumb jokes.

someone who, when I say

on the spur of the moment,

hey lets hit up DC and go to the zoo,

they’d smile and jump on the banwagon.

that when I giggle and look out,

they’ll know what I’m smiling about.

someone, who when my day does go

bad, they’ll  still stay around. Understanding

enough to know it all, with out me saying anything.

Knowing enough to just hold on to my shaking,

panic attack  ridden shoulders and    wait.

not say anything because they realize

just how much I need them, right then,

and have them not shy away from me.

have them stay until I can smile back..

[its all the little things I hope for

that hurt the most.]

I like it. It's really good. I fully understand the feeling...but a reversed version of "To be the woman who is everything you'd expect her to be." :P

I really like it though, it flows well in my opinion.
