A Poem by Grant Norwood

Cheez,

a blue Burmese,

had an allergy to fleas.

She would wheeze,

she would sneeze,

with degrees

of unease.

“Jeez!”

exclaimed Louise

the veterinarian, agrees

poor old Cheez

on her knees

should be free

from disease

So Louise,

with expertise

called to Mack the Siamese

“I decree

he’s the key

to fixing Cheez

I guarantee!”

A Siamese

looked with ease

pointed up into the breeze

“Build for Cheez

in the trees

above the fleas,

a cat trapeze!”

Louise,

so very pleased

cuddled Mack within a squeeze

“I think Cheez

will now be free

from the tease

of itchy fleas.”

Happy Cheez

and no disease

with her friend the Siamese

Flies through trees

with birds and bees

for all to see

and no more fleas.

Golly gee

it’s plain to me

why people come from overseas

Just to see

how jumping trees

forever frees

Mack and Cheez
