Your Kiss

Your Kiss

A Poem by Grandma Auntie

Feeling safe and warm in your embrace

Is worth looking forward to each time.

Knowing you will be there no matter

What the cost makes this so right and true.

The way you make me forget the rest of the world

When I’m with you is a rare gift.

You make me want to go to the end of the earth

Just to come back to your arms.

Time with you is never wasted but, instead,

Worth any lost sleep to be there with you.

Capturing my heart has been so easy,

Making me feel as I have never before.

I’ve enjoyed each of our rendezvous;

It was never awkward, even at the beginning.

We fell into a wonderful cadence

The first time we met and haven’t lost that.

You’ve never left me wondering why we chose

To be with each other, not once.

If time were to stop right now

I hope it would be with your kiss.

Hey, I love that ending. Just the imagery of time stopping during a kiss is enough to make me desire it.

Thanx!

This is good. Romantic! I love the words you picked. The tone was great. I loved the last stanza. Great work!
