The Last Long Lost Dark Drink Of The Soul

The Last Long Lost Dark Drink Of The Soul

A Poem by gram linski

The Last Long Lost Dark Drink Of The Soul;
-
I wanna write into the night
ride the darkness     /     the Life
destroyer
the madness road of unthinking
unconcern for triviality and
                                        dream
-
Wanna swim in the torrents
of the wildest, calming storm
( immersed in oyster blood and kale, )

-
bathing in moonshine
unforgotten and forlorn
-
Wanna dance in the stars, naked and free,
heart exploding     pulsing in perfect
harmony
with destruction and rebirth
Annihilation rips/sips my soul
asunder,      akimbo, (thoughts      akimbo )
spread eagled,     raped
and screaming for reform
                  moonlike
-
Wanna howl     (moonlike )     black     skywards
in the hope,     sweet vain glorious
hope
that Sirius, my lover,       answers her
                                          phone
-
Wanna sink and cry into the
dawn
revelations fulfilled and still born
-
Wiping the crust of some kind
     of something from my eye,

One blink,     and all is gone

Your poem gram with its wonderful dark imagery and feeling, speaks to me or rather shouts at me about escape and freedom. I felt the shackles come off here and the energy of escaping darkness into the light. Excuse my ramblings but that is where you took me. Happy Sunday. On reflection this could be someone breaking the addiction of alcohol.

I was back with the Beat poets reading this...a combination of Ginsberg and Ferlinghetti...
what a collision...yes, deep into the night we write...we are searching for something and often we are unsure exactly what it is....why it matters...but the heart of the poet knows it does....simple knows it does.

very passionate .. strong creative tension ... i am torn by it ... makes me think of St. Paul's first letter to the Corinthians 13:12 "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known." ..isn't it amazing how we have such an innate need and desire to "know" ... to "seek" ..how sad it is when we give up ... loose hope ... or neglect the need ... we are created creatures aren't we Gram?! I don't think we can hold seeing the whole truth and nothing but the truth ... I think perhaps the "dark glass" is our protection ... until we are truly ready .. as children ;)Your title is a super hook for me sir! the read is so very emotive .. our human dichotomy torturously exposed says i! nice read for me ... thought provoking for sure!
