The Death of God

The Death of God

A Poem by gram linski

The Death of God ;
-
The ignored, ( ignorant ), malevolent god
spat flame and fury
incandescent with rage
into the dreams of mortals
     the damned and deranged /
                                               depraved
-
see and feel the truth of Life
of Love of Death,
-
     must I suffer alone
must I be omnipotent, alone
                 omniscient, alone
                   impotent,
( in silent mocking company, ) alone
-
must I watch the disintegration
     of man and humanity
must I weep openly /
                               / thunderbolt tears
exploding through galaxy's eyes
-
must I be the only one with knowledge/
                                                              / Gnosis,
-
-
     must I f*****g be

I'm reading your snippy missive as being what God must be saying, feeling impotent Himself at times, possibly fighting off feelings of rejection with so many millions that regularly curse & blame Him for all the evil in the world --> primarily the result of choices humans make --> yet we'd surely blast ole God up the ying-yang if He didn't let us have our treasured free will, right? Humans are so pathetic, it's a wonder God is as generous as He is *wink! wink!* Fondly, Margie

PS, I never noticed that you & Noodle have a similar style of using spaces & dots & parenthesis & other ways to grab your readers spatially . . . until I read his review just now!

passionate and super emotive Gram .. we are mortal .. God can take the bruising we give out .. it is frustrating to watch occurrences both in Nature and our own brand of evil .. and feel helpless .. Faith takes over, I think, simply because our ways are not God's ways and there is mystery where Science leaves off .. with Covid and turmoil and unrest the frustrations and angst prosper and Faith wanes .. love the form you use ... love the spaces and dashes .. just my cup of tea... emotive, powerful and hits hard .. good stuff says i! really good stuff

That was a strong draft. Leaves a reader reeling. Here is a concept at war with itself and with all it has conceptualized. Including me.

Thanks for sharing..I think.
