"Where is the True Church?" You know gram, I ask myself the same question, but not with the rawness that comes straight from the gut as it does with you. I lost my religion, I have my reasons. You probably have more reason than me. However when I look around and see the suffering of some and the hypocrisy of others who claim the moral high ground, I prefer to stay clear of it. I find myself spiritual, I don't have to go to church to know what is good or bad or who deserves help. It's a spontaneous feeling. Your lines are gut wrenching. We live in times where money is everything and people don't seem to matter anymore. There is good and bad everywhere.

It's in the back pocket of the takers, where its always been.
We are an innately wicked species and your listing of our sins should make us hang our heads in shame.
Guilty M'Lud, though all I did was look the other way as I drove to the supermarket.

Another anger filled piece which begs a question many ask themselves unless so brainwashed by 'men' of cloth all the colour has drained away. This is a question we need to ask but personally I would never deride those who NEED to believe to survive all the mayhem and atrocities and societal sins. Unless they try to force such 'faith' upon others.
never force your faith on others, John, that's called sexual harassment these days

I would rather breathe on a lass's pubic place, dude you are doing it the wrong way round,
I just typed out a really long comment but then didn’t like myself very much after reading. Deleted.
This poem leaves me with that sense of numbness I imagine those characters in 80’s movies had when they had to watch all of the worst deeds of humanity rifle by them at a blinding pace and lose all illusions in about thirty seconds flat.
Not to say I’m ignorant to any of what you’ve included. It’s just not always easy to digest all the ugliness all at once.
Sometimes people have said to me (believers have said to me) that it is not our duty to help refugees, and that in fact it is God’s will for Syria to be destroyed. I don’t sit silent and listen, but it is near impossible to change these people’s minds. This is just one example. The weakness of human thinking never ceases to shock me. The callousness and cruelty floor me anew each time.
For me the hope lies in the fact that I can act and believe counter to that falsity, and do whatever the hell I can to be something like the idea of love one another. It’s very simple, but we just keep screwing it up.
Jarring poem, Gram. Just about like waking up to a firing squad at the foot of my bed.

Caged In An Animal's Mind
Caged in an animal's mind;
No wish to be more or else
Than I am; a smile and a grief
Of breath that thinks with its blood,
Yet straining despite; unsure
In my stir .. more..
