Smoking blue smoke blue

Smoking blue smoke blue

A Poem by gram linski

The sage, inhaled the dream,
exhaled the mind,
tasted bitterness and loss,
drank bile from dirty wine glasses,
for breakfast,
and feasted on pain for lunch,
ate his heart for dinner,
and dined out
on discontent,
snacked on solitude,
and felt sated,
rolled another smoke,
and waited...

all the fixings of the sage or the street bum ... what a mix ... nice job using your own voice as the speaker .. makes me a fly on the wall ... seems pain in life is the greater teacher ... loss and solitude and devouring one's self hmmmmmmm i have read about the necessary letting go of the ol' ego ... also the goal of sage and consequences of street bumming ;) ... love the title .. i kind of sat there smoking the blue of it for a while ... easy flowing free verse ... intellectually, socially, and spiritually inspiring ... deep reading for me

Slange, dude,
this rolls off the tongue like a well rolled joint softly smoked on a quiet night of introspection.
For me, the highs never produced poems...the words just flew away...
and then i felt hungry for food rather than poems...

Thanks j. totally get the munchies, literally, glad you liked it.
The taste of bitterness and loss never dissipates. But the memory of times serves and blood shared still endures.

That is one awful place to find yourself in. Your words scream loss and pain. All good wishes

Pleased to hear it:)
Sometimes that's all there is.
One loss too many is enough to make you call it a day.

Probably not share it.
Heartbreaking, sadness and a pitiful tale of woe and upset. In this poor person life. Of solitude, loss and bitterness.
