The hour glass

The hour glass

A Poem by gram linski

A ghost of a whisper, a tracer,
A conversation, connection, a thread,
Intangible, at best,
I need a helping hand, to
Pull me from the darkness
and the quicksand,
A cry for help, drowned inside,
does not fill the silence,
A voice on the phone,
A ghost in the machine,
A random text,
A little crack of sunlight,
To break the night,
And show that hope is out there,
Fucked, depressed and alcoholic,
Screaming poems into a blood red moon,
And still no one listens,
Am I invisible, do I f*****g exist,
Can the monstrous voices roaring
Round my head be heard
By none but me,
I need a trail of breadcrumbs,
To find my way back,
Lost, I say, lost,
The blackness is too black,
And chaos/noise rips and shreds my brain,
My only solace -
The joyous pain of migraine,
I need some one to shout my name,
Just once,
Before the ocean tide sweeps me away.

I felt the struggle in the words.
"The joyous pain of migraine,
I need some one to shout my name,
Just once,
Before the ocean tide sweeps me away."
The above lines could stand alone. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

I did enjoy.
Screaming poetry let's us be honest with ourselves, without ego getting in the way of pretending it's all just peachy, for fear of being seen as fallible, flawed and in pain. Which also sums up life.
Maybe we should all scream more and we would see all the masks of pretending finally slip, leading to us seeing everyone as the fucked up souls we all are.
I like this scream. Its like it comes with subtitles in 48 point bold. :)

I like yer review, dude, it's better than the poem
Many souls have felt these same feelings all alone in a crowded room. For so many reasons. Maybe shyness, feel awkward, scared, lack of self-confidence and more so depression and anxiety to where they are in their own little world. So many other reasons besides. It's not a nice feeling to feel.

I have........
A lot of despair in this write.
Sometimes you wonder if you really exist.
Actually, sometimes in company you think the same thoughts.

Exactly, dude, all alone in a crowed room,
Go to the light! (Poltergeist 1982, Stephen Spielberg)
This is a powerful, brutal and sad piece told like swallowing glass shards. It flows with anger, disappointment, loneliness and desperation. You set the scene well and describe all the emotion and angst of someone trapped in a spiral of defeated hopelessness. A torrid read indeed Gram.

Yes, indeed !
Can you hear me shouting your name? Your words full of despair. Don't let the tide sweep you out to sea for you never to return. Seek and you will find. There is help out there for addictions. That's where you took me.

Tickling is OK, licking is OK, drowning isn't :)
Wow, I could feel the anguish through your words.
every line amplified this anguish and one cannot help but empathize with them.
Be reassured, hope does exist.
It exists within us, we just have to look hard enough..
Take care and be blessed..
