Simple and to the point, I like these words, I think he might well have liked them too...
I saw the great man a total of 9 times I think...and he never once disappointed.. and no matter how many times I read his novels or his poetry, or listen to his voice, I am reminded of his genius.. and so dear Gram, I fully understand where you are coming from.... Have you ever listened to Adam?

The poet's journey. I have a lot of connections like this, only it is usually prose for me. Stuff I read when I was an undergrad and still pretty stuck in a weird mindset that was like a wall between me and actually absorbing anything. Time will do a lot to open doors in those walls if we just move out of the way.
I like that this is a question/conversation that will remain unanswered. I have a lot of those poems too. They allow for a lot of possibilities. Even if just for myself.
The best things. Like the simplicity of this one.

I love the way this is 'topped and tailed' in a way that suggests a simple fact rather than any great revelation in the understanding of the poetry. A short sharp poem that leaves a feeling of acceptance and cold blooded unemotive fact.

Caged In An Animal's Mind
Caged in an animal's mind;
No wish to be more or else
Than I am; a smile and a grief
Of breath that thinks with its blood,
Yet straining despite; unsure
In my stir .. more..
