Senryu # 11-17: The Joking Series

Senryu # 11-17: The Joking Series

A Poem by Thaddius

Honey, the punch line!

It's at the bus stop where you

kicked it to the curb

Jesus, Moses, please!

Save us from the blasphemy

of indulgent prayers

I tasted your juice

It wasn't a mimosa

but I'm still thirsty

If you read my words

Would you listen to the ones

rising from my throat?

I go in intact

You cut me just for caring

Always ends this way

If you're sleeping now

Can you open up your dream

So I can climb inside?

Hide behind the jokes:

The crowd won't take the silence

No-one pays to mourn.
