ANOTHER THOUGHT WHILE IN ISOLATIONA Poem by Graeme RichardsonThis is a poem that I wrote while we're 'caught' with COVID -19. I've also made a SHORT FILM of this poem, and you can find it on either YouTube or Vimeo, just type into the search window - GRAEME RICIs your data safe? Crappy mind mapping
colour charts as a form of backing. Clandestine powers
shift money, As if fraud is about
winning the race. Unfortunately, They win. With no empathy for candor
or justice. Foreign dictatorships
spy upon us, As our leaders side
step, Skipping to the tune if
ignorance and deceit. Elections are
manipulated, Politicians are dressed
up with dodgy votes, As brown paper bags in
back alleys make sure there’s a scapegoat. Though, Come festival time,
gala time. These carnivals, Somehow. (We don’t know how?) Have earned the
privilege of not wearing masks. On the other side of
town, There are those fanatically
obsessed with freedom. Refusing to
‘tow-the-line’, Treating experts with
contempt, As if liberty dwarfs
one’s dying body attached to a machine. Added to this mistrust, Are their irreversible malevolent
cellmates. Who shout an’ violently
wave placards with only one letter upon it. “Q”. Their treacherous belief
system Now drenched and
felicitated by the impotent social media. They holler, like
automatons, in cascading repetition… “It’s nothing but
a socialist cabal, to submit us to Satan!” I, on the other hand, Quietly observe with an
open mind. My conclusions ready to
be unsheathed. While keeping both
hands firmly on my weapon of choice; a laptop. © 2020 Graeme Richardson |
