A Poem by Gracynn

Somehow I thought I had a choice,
I told myself I owned my voice.
Silly to think I could decide,
But really I should just abide.

I fight and fight for what?
Everyday I'm in this rut.
Giving in is too hard,
Instead I keep my heart on guard.

guarding our heart is a full time job with much overtime....and we pay in apathetic splendor...not being able to let ourselves love...the past can be a mean sentry.

You are entitled to speak your mind and stand up for yourself. Never let anyone upset you or put you down. You are you, unique and perfect.

You live in a democracy, of course, you don't own your voice.
Ruts are just a brick wall to smash through. Power to the wrecking ball for freedom.

You DO have a voice and a choice... catch a breath.
