Pillow FightsA Poem by Gracynn
We used to have pillow fights
The kind at a girl's slumber party We'd groan in the morning light Streaming through the old window And you would call me those names The cute ones like baby, hun, sweetie You said I put others to shame And made aware I was important But one day those names changed I can't remember when it went wrong You reminded me, I was deranged And received names similar Crazy, psycho were common You spat all of them at me Your voice hoarse, my fault far too often Escalating your anger and my fear We used to have painful fights The kind that leave bruises for a while Friends questioned if I was alright Sunlight still streamed through the old window
